Translational Inflammation Summit, Sagamore, Bolton Landing, NY. Sept7-8, 2012 organized by J. Hamilton ,I. Ahnfelt, K. Matsushima, L Marshall. This summit was initiated to increase the profile of Inflammation as a global and significant science. In this regard, the quality and variety of attendees were significant. It was rare to see such numbers of Industrial and academic ( 1:2) opinion formers crossing disease targets at the same event in common purpose. Twenty four presentations were given over a 2 day period which was attended by 42 participants. Cutting edge research was presented on inflammatory processes or diseases and how best to translate such research into therapeutic benefit. Special discussion periods provided additional discussion on the topics but always with the main theme in mind- defining the frontiers and translational pathways of inflammation research. At the end of each day, thoughts and comments were summarized and its planned to be the focus of a publication to be written up by a professional science writer , edited by the organizers and submitted to a high profile journal. The IAIS is extremely appreciative to and thank the following Corporate sponsors: Abbott, Biogen Idec, Celgene, Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., LTD.,GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen, KYOWA KIRIN, Medimmune, novo nordisk, Pfizer and REGENERON. The meeting was designed to be international and was represented by Europe, Japan, Australia, and the USA.
